My Umrah Packing List, with some detail explanation
This is for my 17days Umrah Itikaf, in Ramadan, 17-31 March 2025 when the temperature wasn't too hot.
Clothings:
9 Abayas + 2 Pajamas + Legging and inner tshirt + other inner clothings
9 Khimar or hijab, Hijab pin
9 Inner Hijab
9 Handsocks
15 socks ( this is important because socks is hard to find in Mecca)
21 Paper underwear + some fabric underwear + 1 pack of panty liner
Comfy and light sandal
Hat (is a must)
Qur'an pocket (yes, there are plenty of Quran in Haramain that you can use, but I prefer using mine, because the font is more familiar, and I don't have to stand up and walk through people to reach the Quran. In some places like the rooftop of Masjidil Haram, the Quran spots is only a few, makes it harder to reach during crowded time).
Dhikr bead, dhikr ring
Sanitary and Beauty kit
Basic skincare kit, and bathroom kit
Deorex; deodorant spray, non-perfumed. Recommended. This is the reason why I can wear same abayas for two days. I only change the tanktop inside.
Medicine: Nerolut, Sanmol, paracetamol, panadol flu, panadol headache, mylanta, cajuput oil, betadine, alcohol wipe, salonpas, sangobion, vitamin C, vitamin D, Magnesium, and Fatigon.
Sunscreen + cotton
2 packs of TISSUE; this is super important because tissues in Arab are not as smooth and thick as the one I like (Paseo baby. luckily I brought two, because I left one pack in the bus, leaving one pack for the entire 10 days in Mecca which is not enough. I had to buy tissue there, 3riyals, big one, but not too soft).
Wet tissue
Mask -- bring as many as you can. I brought 5 packs of Nexcare, prefer the Nexcare brand because its thick.
2 Lipbalms
Other things to pack
Small scissor (for tahallul, this is super important and remember not to put it in cabin)
Nail clipper
Umbrella (highly important)
Travel charger port
2 Tumblers; Big one750ml for cold zamzam (one that can retain cold for 16 hours), and small one 350ml for iftar (also the one that can retain hot for hours. I brew the tea after dhuhr, went to the masjid to get a spot, and continue itikaf, and the tea is still hot in magrib time).
Tongtji tea, because I love the tea and it makes iftar in the masjid easier.
Lunch box (Some people suggest to bring folded one, but I just bring my regular one).
Small sajadah and sajadah for itikaf. Sajadah that can support your back during sitting on itikaf, highly highly important
Vacuum plastic, (turns out not really helpful. it harden the pack and make it less flexible)
Big tape (optional, but it helps when people need it. I didn't use it).
Toilet seat cover (optional), but I never used the bathroom in the masjid so this wasn't really needed.
Folded hanger (I dont bring this, because I didn't do any laundry).
Spray bottle, just in case you need wudhu but there is no wudhu area
A folded bag for your shoes/sandal. or simply a plastic bag.
A folded 5litres to pack Zamzam. In Medina, there is a gate where you can collect zamzam but only men can queue. Women can ask the officer to help, but it has to be at least 5 litres. I asked him to get me zamzam in my 750ml bottle, he rejected.
