There is one thing I still don't understand about my quest into religion: Music.
Some of the strict scholars say it's haram, some others don't recommend it to us if we wanna fill the brain with The Quran, but other scholars even request music during their youtube live.
I mean.. I still find it beautiful but at the same time intruding my mind if I try to memorize one ayah or two. But why is it beautiful? Like it touches and moves our soul.
"When you're close to tears remember,
Someday it'll all be over
One day we're gonna get so high
And though it's darker than December
What's ahead is a different colour
One day we're gonna get so high..." High - Lighthouse.
Especially this one, one that I always play over and over again whenever I feel like at the dead end.
"Don't you think it's time you started
Doing what we always wanted,
One day we're gonna get so high
'Cause even the impossible is easy
When we got each other
One day we're gonna get so high..
And at
The end of the day
Remember the days
When we were close to the edge
And we'll wonder how we made it through
And at
The end of the day
We'll remember the way
We stayed so closed till the end
We'll remember it was me and you.."
Except that I don't have anyone in mind when the song says we. All I can think of is just how can I keep going under this situation. How can I get myself out of these situations?
So.. if music is one way to touch a soul, and why is it forbidden? Yes, it is interfering the soul, preventing it from getting the light she always craved for, but why? Why Allah created something so beautiful and universal just for us to avoid?
I know it's getting dangerous down here, if I'm questioning too much without guidance I can get lost like in Saigon. So I'll stop writing now and continue my sixth-re-watching Lalala Land. And besides.. I think my eyesight is getting worse, I can't write from a normal distance without glasses, which I think I still could a month ago. Also, my short-term memory is not getting any better, I can't remember the point I was about to make when I started to write my second post of the day.
Alright,
Gnite
